ALCAcode is a complex software solution for tracing contacts of COVID-19 positive people. The system works without the use of personal data, without locating or tracking the people, and without the need to have a smartphone with installed and running application.
Features such as smart quarantine, contact tracing, quick identification and risk control are very useful. But much greater benefits come with faster and safer opening of post COVID economy. For example you can replace a big area-wide (country or district) restrictions with precise targeting to individuals, groups of people or a specific shop, restaurant, or theatre.
ALCAcode does not use any personal data to record human interactions. The system works with meaningless alphanumeric strings only, which are referred to as personal QR codes. The personal QR code is created by encoding a phone number in the international format and date of birth. The encoding is performed by the software application through a non-public application interface (API).
It is possible to use the ALCAcode system either actively or passively. Active users can install a mobile application on their phone or tablet. They can use it to display their QR code or QR code ID card, check-in and check-out at a place by scanning its QR code, register for the event, register a meeting with another person, check their own risk level, as well as the current risk level of other people, places and events. Active users are also the persons responsible for the venues or organizers of the events.
Passive users can have their QR code printed on a paper card or saved as an image on their phone. They can use a web application to create their QR ID card or ask an another user to do so.
Interactions are events during which an infection can be transmitted from one person to another. In this sense, an interaction is a personal meeting of two or more people, a visit to a place or participation in an event.
If two or more people meet and consider it appropriate to register this meeting, the active user scans the QR code of the other person or the QR codes of other participants in the meeting. In addition to the process of registering the meeting, active user verifies the current risk level of the other participant in the meeting online.
Personal QR codes and the date and time of the meeting will be sent to the server. Records of interactions remain in the database for the next two weeks in case any of the participants in the meeting is found to have a positive COVID-19 test result during this period. After this time, the data is deleted from the database.
When visiting a place, such as a restaurant or hairdresser, the active user can check-in himself by scanning the QR code of the place from the poster located in front of the entrance. A passive user can be checked-in by a person authorized by the site manager.
If the visitors do not check-out after leaving the place, the application will check them out immediately when they check-in at another place. If they do not check-in at another place, they will be checked-out of the last checked place at midnight.
When attending an event, such as a math class or a theater performance, the active user can check-in himself by scanning the QR code of the event from the event poster. A passive user can be registered by a person authorized by an event manager.
Personal QR codes, QR codes of the events or places, and the date and time of the interactions will be sent to the server. Records remain in the database for the next two weeks in case any of the visitors or participants is found to have a positive COVID-19 test result during this period. After two weeks the data is deleted.
ALCAcode uses four levels of risk level. Safe (green), Low risk (orange), High risk (red) and Dangerous (black). Red and black level send you to a quarantine. Before meeting another persons, we can scan their QR codes to verify their risk level. Similar before enter a place or attend an event. So if you are going to visit a restaurant, use your app and scan its QR code before enter. If the restaurant's risk level is high, you may choose not to enter.
if you meet a person who is at higher risk level than you, or you visit a high-risk place or event, your risk level will increase. As a result, you may not be able to reach a place where only low-risk people will be allowed to enter.
In the morning after waking up, check your personal risk status. If you are red or black, stay at home and follow the instructions of the application.
